Wrapping Up Part III

Last night Shelley and Emily hosted a choctail party. It was also Amy's 27th birthday party. Amy looks younger than 27 though.

I gave her umbrellas for her birthday. I hope she didn't think that was too wierd a gift. Not that it wasn't a wierd gift. It was a wierd gift. But eminently practical. When she looses an umbrellad, she has another in her bag to replace it. But if she looses her bag, then she might be a bit stuck.

I think I ingested too much caffine at the choctail party, because my brain was going into its critical hyperactive mode and I think I was annoying everyone by playing devil's advocate. Although every one was tired and wanted to leave, I was still trying to engage them in debates they didn't care about. I think I have this need like other people need to have hugs or drink tea or lie in the sun, this need to argue. I don't do philosophy for fun, I do it because I need to.

Which is why I'm:
-Reading Popper
-Thinking about a thesis on natural selection
-Constructing a piece because I'm not happy with Australian Males right now. I will reprimand (most) of them for responding to feminism in two extreme ways; either attempting to appease women by being limp and submissive or by retreating to an ugly FHM reading machoism that seeks to reiterate gender stereotypes.
-And having dialouges with imaginary interlocuters in my head. I always win these.

In other news, I'm working at Retro cafe. Regulars include Senator Bob Brown ("Here's your latte, Bob," says one of the waitresses casually, to the horror of the American patriotic psyche) and Greg Barns, who is suprisingly really tall.

And here is what I wore to the party.

Wrapping Up Part II

I was just covering my bases with the title of my last entry, but now I do have a couple more things to say.

I've started work at an Italian restaurant. One of the chefs asks my boss (who is Italian) "Is gold cheaper in Italy?"

"I know who you look like; Scarlett Johansson..." said my brother yesterday (Aww, thanks Lukie) "...with the funny lips and the double chin." (Umm, thanks Luke)
